Senior Conservator

Museum Five Continents, MUNICH, GERMANY

2013 - 2015: Thai temple paintings project with a grant from the Ernst von Siemens Foundation:

Budgetting, management, studio set-up in the museum for the conservation of 50 oversized thai temple paintings with multiple damage phenomena such as powdery paint layers tears in fabrics, over 40% of paint layer losses, fragile fabric supports.

Responsible for the department of conservation of organic materials.

Responsible for the storages of all continents with a focus on  North America (including arctic), South America, South East Asia.

Collaboration with curators of all continents.

Treatments of mixed media objects from all time periods, ranging from feathers over parchment, paper, hair, ceramics, wood, mud, plant material, textile, beads, horn to painted bronze and stone.

Intake of objects, collection management, exhibition preparation, collection care, courier trips, supervising interns

Technical University Munich, GERMANY - Chair for Restoration, Art Technology and Conservation Science

Studies in art conservation with a focus on paintings and sculptures but including all materials. Mu studies in conservation at the Technical University included practical treatments, theory of ethics, material science, art history and others. The advantage of the presence of the chair for conservation being a part of the Technical University, Munich, was the multiple chances for interdisciplinary collaborations with scientists such as chemists, physicists, architects, archeologists etc. and the use of scientific analysis equipment and knowledge of the university

1997-1999

Junior Conservator

Wallraf-Richartz Museum / Museum Ludwig, Cologne, Germany

As part of the mandatory prerequisite for the admission to the conservation program at the Technical University, Munich.

Multiple conservation treatments with extensive scientific research, exhibition care, courier trips, preventive conservation, condition reporting

1995 - 1997

Junior Conservator

As part of the mandatory requirements for the admission to the conservation program at the Technical University, Munich.

Multiple conservation projects with extensive scientific research, preventive conservation, accompanying of senior conservators in on-site supervision and managements of big projects such as conservations of entire church or castle interiors.
